Adelaide City Rebrand Concept

Adelaide City FC is a historic football club in Adelaide, South Australia. A club steeped in history dating back to 1946 when Mario Bailetti migrated from Italy to Australia and started his own team out the back of his sport store.

City would go on a major run of success where they have been crowned national champions three times of the now defunct NSL (National Soccer League - then Australia’s premier division). Only two clubs (South Melbourne and Marconi) have spent more time (27 seasons) in the top tier of Australian soccer since national competition began.

During its national league stint, City also won the NSL Cup three times which is more than any other club whilst achieving a league and cup double in 1992. They also became the first Australian club in history to win a continental title when it claimed the 1987 Oceania Club Championship.

The brief was to create a modern and digital friendly logo that maintained the club’s heritage.
